Investigating the Northern Research Station’s Forest Inventory and Analysis Vegetation Data.

Plants have important medicinal, cultural, and spiritual values within our society. In this study, I further investigated the 2006 through 2010 Phase 3 data of the Northern Research Station. This data set covers the northeastern and Midwestern regions of the United States. Various species of medicinal and herbal interest were mapped, and the data were analyzed to look at species differences, such as ecoregion and forest type. This work helps to identify differences within and among the species to offer insight on their habitat, as well as their availability. Evaluating these aspects offers a valuable perspective for management and restoration guidance.
