Floristics & Taxonomy Esch, Ryan [1], Lyon, Stephanie [2]. Flora of Treehaven. The Flora of Treehaven project is the first list of vascular plant species at the Treehaven research station that strives to be comprehensive. Located near Tomahawk, Wisconsin, Treehaven is a 1,400-acre, public, nonprofit facility owned by the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) and operated by the UWSP College of Natural Resources. We began collecting herbarium specimens and observations of plants in the field in May 2019. Herbarium specimens were identified to species level or lower taxonomic divisions during the following winter with a dissection microscope and resources at the UWSP Robert W. Freckmann Herbarium. Recent observations were compiled with historical herbarium specimens and reliable observations. We calculated species richness, mean Coefficient of Conservation using both Wisconsin and Michigan data, Floristic Quality Index, and phylogenetic diversity. The completed list and indices hope to: support future research conducted by the on-site National Ecological Observatory Network and student groups such as The Wildlife Society of UWSP; allow managers to track changes in the local ecosystem over time; and serve as a tool for over 25,000 students, teachers, and visitors who use the property each year.
